Agartala, June 04: The BJP on Saturday introduced its applicants for the June 23 bypoll to 2 parliamentary seats in Uttar Pradesh and 7 meeting constituencies in 4 states, fielding Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha from Town Bordowali and Bhojpuri singer Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ from Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituency. Ghanshyam Lodhi could be the BJP candidate from the Rampur Lok Sabha seat.

 

Azamgarh and Rampur constituencies had been vacated through Samajwadi Party leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Mohd Azam Khan respectively after triumphing in the meeting polls.

For the Rajinder Nagar meeting seat in Delhi, the BJP has fielded Rajesh Bhatia. The seat has become vacant following senior AAP chief Raghav Chadha’s election to Rajya Sabha from Punjab.

Tripura Chief Minister Saha is the BJP’s candidate for the Town Bordowali meeting. Saha, a Rajya Sabha member, become these days appointed because the country leader minister changing Biplab Deb.

In Tripura, the party has fielded Ashok Sinha from Agartala, Swapna Das Paul from Surma (SC), and Malina Debnath from Jubarajnagar.

The party has nominated Gundlapalli Bharath Kumar Yadav from the Atmarkur meeting seat in Andhra Pradesh and Gangorti Kujur from Mandar (ST) in Jharkhand.

The through-election to a few Lok Sabha and 7 meeting seats throughout six states could be hung on June 23, in keeping with the Election Commission.

The 0.33 parliamentary seat is Sangrur in Punjab vacated through Bhagwant Mann who has become the leading minister of the country after the Aam Aadmi Party gained these days-held meeting polls there.

Votes could be counted on June 26 and the notification for the bypolls could be issued on May 30, the EC had stated in a statement.
