Itanagar, Jan 31: In a significant political development in Arunachal Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received a boost as a considerable number of workers from the National People’s Party (NPP) and Congress switched allegiance to the BJP ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.

The shift in political affiliations occurred in Papum Pare, dealing another setback to the NPP and Congress in the region.

The mass joining program took place at Dungshi village, Basernallo-1 Panchayat, under the Sandupota Circle of the 14th Doimukh Assembly Constituency in Papum Pare district.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of workers who formally joined the BJP, the world’s largest political party.

Local MLA Tana Hali Tara expressed gratitude to the new members joining from other political parties. Prominent figures, including Papum Pare District BJP President Ngurang Logi Nabam Setej, Techi Dhormo GPM Basernnallo, and various BJP Panchayat leaders and members of the public attended the event.

Speaking to the media, MLA Tana Hali Tara attributed the mass joining of Congress and NPP workers to the visionary development approach of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted their tireless efforts for substantial development in Arunachal Pradesh and the nation.

The newly joined members pledged their dedication to the BJP, expressing their commitment to working for the party’s success. They aimed to strengthen Chief Minister Khandu’s leadership and contribute to the victory of both BJP MPs in the upcoming elections.

MLA Tana Hali Tara emphasized the importance of timely and efficient development work. He asserted that development projects delayed by certain contractors would be dealt with firmly.

Contractors failing to complete projects within a 12-month timeframe would face blacklisting, as the MLA stressed that the integrity of development work should not be compromised. He viewed delays in development projects as indirectly contributing to corruption.

In addition to addressing development concerns, MLA Tana Hali Tara highlighted the significance of land and air connectivity. He shared plans to install 900 network towers in his constituency to improve digital connectivity.

Regular visits to villages enable him to assess the requirements and needs of the people, reinforcing his commitment to holistic development in the region. The political shift showcased the growing influence of the BJP in Arunachal Pradesh as it strategically gathered support ahead of the crucial assembly polls.
