Bengaluru, Nov 15: The Opposition BJP in Karnataka is gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections by organizing a mega convention to mark B.Y. Vijayendra’s takeover as the party’s State president. Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa announced the event, stating that over one lakh party workers would participate, and he expressed the desire for Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attend.

During a program at the BJP State office celebrating the change in party leadership, Yediyurappa emphasized the significance of the mega convention, aligning it with the elevation of Vijayendra as the State president.

He underlined that Vijayendra assumed the role following the instructions and blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and National President J.P. Nadda, generating rare enthusiasm among party members and supporters.

Former State presidents and veteran leaders D.V. Sadananda Gowda and K.S. Eshwarappa extended their best wishes to Vijayendra. They encouraged party cadres to focus on achieving a sweeping victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, aiming to secure all 28 seats in the State.

The move to involve Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the mega convention indicates the BJP’s strategy to boost momentum and rally support for the party ahead of the crucial national elections. The party leadership aims to capitalize on the energy generated by the new State president and channel it into a strong electoral campaign.
