New Delhi, Nov 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) resorted to social media to take a humorous jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, sharing a poster with a witty caption, ‘Fuse Tubelight.’ The poster humorously presented Rahul Gandhi as a ‘tubelight’ with the tagline “Made in China.”

The caption of the poster cleverly stated, “Congress Presents Rahul Gandhi in and as tubelight.”

This latest dig echoes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier comments in 2020 when he compared Rahul Gandhi to a tubelight. During a session in Lok Sabha, PM Modi remarked on the delay in Rahul Gandhi’s response, saying, “I was speaking for the last 30-40 minutes but it took this long for the current to reach there. Many tubelights are like this.”

The humorous reference was made in response to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘danda’ (stick) jibe, where he suggested that the youth would hit Modi with sticks in six months. In a witty comeback, PM Modi quipped, “I have decided that I will increase my frequency of ‘Surya Namaskar’ so that my back becomes so strong that it can bear the hit of so many sticks.”

The recent poster shared by the BJP revives this tubelight analogy, adding a touch of satire to the political discourse. While political jabs are commonplace, this one playfully employs the metaphor to highlight delays in response or understanding, bringing humor into the political arena.
