Gangtok, March 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its third list, revealing the names of nine candidates who will vie for seats in the upcoming Assembly elections in Sikkim.

This recent announcement underscores the BJP’s strategic preparations for the polls slated to be held on April 19th.

Having now disclosed a total of 32 candidates, the BJP is making significant strides in its electoral campaign in the state.

In the Sikkim Assembly, which consists of 32 seats, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) emerged victorious in 17 seats during the 2019 elections, precisely the number required to secure a majority.

Meanwhile, the BJP secured 11 seats, further solidifying its presence in the state’s political landscape.

The voting process is slated to commence on April 19th, with the deadline for nomination filing set for March 27th and scrutiny scheduled for March 28th.

In addition to the Assembly elections, voting for the Sikkim Lok Sabha seat will also occur on April 19th, with the tallying of votes earmarked for June 2nd.
