Srinagar, Oct 19: Senior BJP leader Ashish Sood emphasized that the primary focus of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting, attended by key BJP figures, delved into discussions regarding various government schemes and their impact on the local population, particularly those who are underprivileged.

Among the notable attendees were Ashish Sood, BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir Co-Incharge; Ashok Koul, J&K BJP General Secretary (Org); and Sunil Prajapati, President of the J&K BJP OBC Morcha, along with other senior party leaders.

The central theme of the meeting revolved around an assessment of government initiatives and their role in enhancing the lives of the people, especially those in need.

Ashish Sood shed light on a government scheme called the “Vishwakarma Scheme.” This scheme, with a substantial financial allocation of Rs 13,000 crore, is tailored to benefit artisans and craftsmen, primarily from the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Jammu and Kashmir. It provides comprehensive support, ranging from registration to financial assistance, with the goal of uplifting these traditional vocations.

The Vishwakarma Scheme is designed to span five years and aims to bring about positive change in the lives of approximately 30 lakh families of artisans and craftsmen, including weavers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, and laundry workers.

Ashok Koul, J&K BJP General Secretary (Org), underscored the BJP government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its citizens. He highlighted key initiatives, such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which seeks to provide financial services to economically disadvantaged individuals, and the Ayushman Bharat Card scheme, offering free healthcare coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per person for economically disadvantaged families. These schemes reflect the party’s dedication to the well-being of the people.

Following the meeting, Ashish Sood, BJP J&K Co-Incharge, convened a press conference to provide the media with insights into the discussions. He was accompanied by Sunil Prajapati, President of the J&K BJP OBC Morcha, and Manzoor Bhat, BJP Kashmir IT Head and Media Incharge.

The BJP’s resolute focus on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections signals the party’s ongoing commitment to political strategy and engagement. The discussions regarding government schemes underscore the BJP’s dedication to addressing the needs of the people, particularly those who are economically disadvantaged, and improving their quality of life.
