“The Home Minister also assured that this case will be treated with the utmost seriousness, and the culprits will be brought to justice with no exceptions,” Biren Singh stated.

The incident that triggered these developments occurred on September 26, with 40 students injured in Manipur’s Imphal Valley. Police used tear gas and baton charges to control a protest stemming from the deaths of two youths who had gone missing in July. Protesters clashed with the police as they attempted to approach the chief minister’s secretariat. The injured students received medical treatment at various hospitals.
