Ahmedabad, Sept 28: A deeply distressing incident captured on CCTV has come to light, showing a 24-year-old woman from the Northeast being subjected to a brutal assault by the owner of a spa located on Sindhu Bhavan Road in Ahmedabad. The graphic footage shows the spa owner, identified as Mohsin, repeatedly slapping, dragging, and tearing the woman’s clothes apart. The violence is so severe that the victim is unable to defend herself.

The distressing incident occurred at the Galaxy Spa in Ahmedabad. Apart from Mohsin, the video also shows two other men witnessing the entire ordeal without intervening. Later, a third man attempts to stop Mohsin but is shoved aside, after which the assailant resumes his assault on the woman. This incident unfolded on September 25, shocking the community and sparking outrage across the nation.
Upon receiving a complaint from the victim, the Bodakdev police registered a case against Mohsin under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 354A (sexual harassment), 294(b) (obscene acts or words), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt). Initially, the victim hesitated to file an official complaint, prompting the police to take suo motu action and provide counseling to persuade her to come forward.

The victim revealed that she was a partner in the women’s salon with Mohsin. The altercation between the two escalated over a dispute involving reprimanding an employee and an alleged financial loss of Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,000. At first, the victim was reluctant to report the incident, but after counseling, she decided to file an official complaint with the police.
This horrifying incident highlights the need for swift and stringent action against perpetrators of violence, particularly against women. It serves as a reminder that society must prioritize the safety and security of all individuals, irrespective of their gender, background, or place of origin.
