The ongoing ethnic clashes in Manipur have been a focal point of tension, underscoring the longstanding discord between the hill-dwelling Kuki tribal community and the valley-dwelling Meiteis.

It is noteworthy that the chargesheets were presented in Guwahati, aligning with the Supreme Court’s decision to transfer 27 CBI cases related to Manipur to the jurisdiction of the Guwahati High Court. This strategic move aims to ensure fair trials and address concerns about the local environment in Manipur.
