Raipur, Feb 03: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to the late Colonel Viplav Tripathi by unveiling his statue at the Shaheed Colonel Viplav Tripathi stadium in Raigarh.

Colonel Tripathi, the Commanding Officer of Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles, had sacrificed his life in a militant ambush in Manipur on November 13, 2021, along with his wife Anuja, son Abir (5), and four other paramilitary personnel.

The ceremony, attended by Colonel Tripathi’s parents, marked a poignant moment of remembrance and recognition for the courageous officer.

During the unveiling, Chief Minister Sai expressed the occasion’s significance, referring to it as a historic day. He praised Colonel Tripathi’s unwavering commitment and valor, emphasizing that the martyr continued to fight against the country’s enemies until his last breath.

The Chief Minister’s words echoed the sentiments of gratitude for the sacrifice made by Colonel Tripathi in service to the nation.

State Finance Minister OP Chaudhary, addressing the gathering, conveyed the collective pride of Raigarh in being associated with the martyr.

Minister Chaudhary highlighted that Colonel Tripathi’s bravery would serve as a perpetual source of inspiration for the community.

In honor of the late Colonel, the minister announced plans for organizing an Agniveer Recruitment Camp in Raigarh, aiming to create a lasting tribute and continue Colonel Tripathi’s legacy of dedication and service.

The unveiling ceremony brought together local dignitaries, officials, and residents to commemorate the life and sacrifice of Colonel Viplav Tripathi. The newly erected statue stands as a poignant reminder of his heroism and contributions to the nation, ensuring that his memory remains etched in the hearts of those he served and protected.
