Aizawl, Nov 14: In the ongoing conflict along the Indo-Myanmar border, the Chin National Army (CNA), an ethnic armed organization in Myanmar, has seized control of the border town of Rikhawdar in the western state of Myanmar. The CNA has successfully raised its flag over the India-Myanmar border, solidifying its dominance in the sub town of Falam in the Chin state.

Clashes between the CNA and the Myanmar army on November 13 led to the CNA taking full control of Rikhawdar. During the confrontations, the CNA and its allied forces managed to capture several junta soldiers and security personnel alive while also causing casualties among junta forces.

As a result of the clashes, 21 individuals, including civilians, were transported to Champhai District Hospital in Mizoram for treatment, with one civilian succumbing to injuries on the way from Zokhawthar.

Local reports suggest that each of the two Myanmar Army camps involved in the conflict had around 60 army personnel.

The People’s Defence Force (PDF) reportedly inflicted significant losses on the Myanmar Army, with unconfirmed reports indicating the killing of a majority of Myanmar Army personnel in both camps. Despite the deployment of Myanmar Army jet fighters and helicopters, the PDF fighters successfully took control of two Myanmar camps situated along the Mizoram border.

The situation remains fluid, with the conflict intensifying along the border, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of civilians caught in the crossfire.
