Congress complaint

Guwahati, Oct 26: Indian National Congress (INC) officially filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India. In their complaint, the INC named Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing them of making divisive and inflammatory statements with the potential to influence the upcoming elections.

Salman Khurshid, a prominent member of the INC, expressed the party’s concerns, stating that these baseless allegations made without evidence could harm the election atmosphere. He urged the Election Commission to promptly address these complaints.

“We have submitted eight memoranda to the Election Commission today. The first complaint is against Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his statement on Chattisgarh. The second one is against Himanta Biswa Sarma for making a dangerous statement again in Chattisgarh on October 18,” mentioned Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.

The INC is seeking appropriate actions by the Election Commission to prevent such divisive statements from negatively impacting the electoral process.
