Aizawl, Oct 26: For the upcoming state assembly polls scheduled for November 7, Senior Congress leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jairam Ramesh, and Shashi Tharoor, are gearing up to campaign in Mizoram. Lalremruata Renthlei, the chairman of Mizoram Congress’s media cell, confirmed this development.

The campaign schedule outlines Priyanka Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor’s visits to Mizoram, with Priyanka scheduled for November 3 and 4. Jairam Ramesh is expected to arrive in Aizawl on Thursday.

During her visit, Priyanka Gandhi is likely to focus her campaign efforts on linguistic minority areas in the southern and western regions of Mizoram.

Jairam Ramesh, in addition to addressing a press conference and meeting with party leaders, will also engage with the public through meetings during his visit.

Rahul Gandhi, another prominent Congress leader, recently visited Mizoram to initiate the party’s campaign for the upcoming Assembly polls.

During his visit, Rahul Gandhi made a notable entrance by riding pillion on a two-wheeler to reach the residence of former Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on October 17.

He embarked on a padayatra to Raj Bhawan and delivered a powerful speech, addressing various issues and criticizing the ruling BJP for not adequately addressing the concerns of minority groups, tribal communities, and Dalits in the country. He emphasized the need to address these issues and the broader challenges faced by India.
