Gangtok, March 24: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has unveiled its first list of candidates for the upcoming Sikkim Assembly Elections, featuring 18 contenders.

Notable candidates include Kamal Lepcha, contesting from Yoksam-Tashiding, and Mangal Subba, competing in Yangthang.

Previously, the Congress revealed its fourth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, comprising 46 names, including four from the Northeast.

In Assam’s Lakhimpur constituency, Uday Shankar Hazarika has been nominated by Congress, aiming to strengthen its presence in the region.

In Manipur, Prof. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam and Alfred Kanngam S. Arthur are slated to contest from the Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur (ST) constituencies, respectively.

Lalbiakzama has been selected to represent Congress in the Mizoram (ST) constituency.
