Guwahati, April 02: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Diphu, the headquarters of Karbi Anglong district, for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

During this visit, BJP candidate Amarsin Tiso filed his nomination for the Diphu Lok Sabha constituency, receiving support from the CM.

Sarma expressed confidence in Tiso, stating that he has pledged to ensure the ‘Modi ki guarantee’ reaches every household. Highlighting the transformation of Diphu, once a hotbed of insurgency, Sarma attributed the peace in the region to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He emphasized the significant reduction in militant activities in tribal areas over the past decade, crediting Modi’s commitment to developing these regions. Sarma praised the government’s efforts in signing agreements with various groups, leading to a wave of development in tribal areas across Assam.

The preparation for the Lok Sabha elections has intensified in the region, with Sarma initiating his unofficial campaign from Majuli with a cycle rally.

Thousands of people joined him in this endeavor. Following his visit to Diphu, Sarma proceeded to Sarupathar for the Vijay Sankalp Yatra.
