Itanagar, April 02: Arunachal CM Pema Khandu criticizes China’s attempt to rename places, labeling it a “gimmick” and asserting Arunachal Pradesh’s integral part of India.
Responding to China’s move, Chief Minister Pema Khandu denounced it as another ploy by China.
He tweeted, “another gimmick from China. Being a proud citizen of Bharat and a native of Arunachal Pradesh, I strongly condemn this act of naming places within Arunachal Pradesh which has been an integral part of India…”

Echoing this sentiment, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated India’s firm rejection of China’s actions.
“China has persisted with its senseless attempts to rename places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. We firmly reject such attempts. Assigning invented names will not alter the reality that Arunachal Pradesh is, has been, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India,” stated Jaiswal.
China recently released a fourth list of 30 new names for various places along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh, continuing its efforts to assert its claim over the region. However, India remains resolute in its position on the matter, viewing China’s actions as an infringement on its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In the face of China’s repeated attempts to rename locations within Arunachal Pradesh, India stands united, rejecting any interference in the naming of its places.
Both the CM and Jaiswal’s statements reaffirm India’s steadfast stance on the issue, emphasizing that China’s renaming efforts will not alter the ground reality in Arunachal Pradesh.
These developments occur against a backdrop of escalating tensions between the two nations, with China’s recent actions being perceived as provocative moves aimed at challenging India’s sovereignty in the region.
