Documentary Film To Be Made On “Heroic Village” In Arunachal

Arunachal, Nov 8: A documentary movie will be made on the “Heroic Village” of Arunachal Pradesh. It was during the 1962 Chinese invasion that the frontier villages of Arunachal Pradesh stood for the nation in the face of Chinese aggression. Therefore, in the present day, amid the territorial dispute with China, the state is undertaking a plan to display the courage and gallantry of the frontier villages.

With a view to creating a documentary about Kaho in Anjaw district of Arunachal, which survived the Chinese attack in 1962, the Department of Information along with Public Relations and Printing of the state has sent a team of 12 members to Dipa village in Lower Siang district.

Dipa was one of the frontier villages mentioned in the state government’s recent display of the state’s gallantry with the national flag hoisted for the first time on August 15, 1947. As the Chinese People’s Liberation Army outnumbered the Indian soldiers, the villagers aided them. Each of these 11 districts of the state, has a village on the international border of Arunachal Pradesh and China.

Mr Dasher Teshi, director of DIPR, established that Kaho is also a patriotic destination and his team had left Itanagar earlier this week for Kaho on Sunday. Kaho is located 580 kilometres east of Itanagar, on the border with China.

Mr Teshi further explained that they plan to create a documentary film about Kaho village and its people who are members of the Meyor community since very few people are aware of the significance of Kaho village.

Kabo is one of seven villages split by the Lohit river in the Kibithoo block and many locals participated in the freedom movement, making the village significant as well. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, the film will be shown at the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav“. Additionally, it is intended to acknowledge their tireless service and brave sacrifice during the Chinese aggression and thereafter.
