Kohima, March 29: The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) remains steadfast in its decision to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, citing unmet demands for the Frontier Nagaland Territory.

Despite a lengthy meeting at CKS Hall Tuensang HQ involving the Eastern Nagaland Legislature’s Union and a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, ENPO President R. Tsapikiu Sangtam affirmed the organization’s commitment to the boycott.

Sangtam reiterated the resolution made on February 23, known as the Chenmoho resolution, to boycott both state and Central elections.

He emphasized that while there were discussions during the meeting, there was no decision to withdraw the resolution.

Although ENLU appealed to ENPO to reconsider its boycott stance, no decision was reached during the discussion.

Sangtam described the meeting as a coordination effort, acknowledging a previous communication gap that has now been resolved.

He expressed gratitude for ENLU’s continued support and emphasized the need for unity and collaboration moving forward. Sangtam also stated that the state of public emergency in the Eastern region would persist.

While a draft proposal handed over to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio by Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier this year was reportedly discussed during the meeting, no further details were provided.
