Aizawl, Oct 22: In anticipation of the upcoming assembly elections in Mizoram, a coordinated operation involving the Assam Rifles and state police resulted in the discovery and confiscation of a substantial quantity of explosives.

Among the seized items were 5,800 detonators and 11,200 meters of codex wire, as reported in a statement from the paramilitary forces on October 22.

This cache of warlike materials was found along the Siaha-Chakhang road within Mizoram’s Siaha district, according to an official source. The recovered explosives and related items have been transferred to the Siaha police station to initiate the necessary legal procedures.
