Guwahati, May 11: A devastating fire engulfed Baragul village in the Ratabari area of Karimganj, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Local residents, alerted by the inferno, courageously attempted to douse the flames threatening nearby buildings. Preliminary assessments indicate that the fire caused damages totaling around Rs 50 lakh.

As the flames raged, firefighters hurried to the scene, deploying all available resources to contain the blaze.

Despite their efforts, the fire inflicted significant damage, particularly at Sarimul Haque’s residence, where it is believed to have originated from an electrical malfunction.

Sadly, Sarimul Haque’s house was consumed by the fire, adding to the devastation.

Questions have arisen regarding the delayed response of the fire brigade, prompting concerns about whether a swifter intervention could have limited the extent of the disaster.
