Sonamarg, April 16: Fresh snowfall blanketed Sonamarg, a renowned tourist spot in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, painting the landscape in pristine white hues.

The recent spell of snowfall brought back the winter chill to Kashmir, with moderate rainfall lowering temperatures across the Valley over the past two days.

Picturesque scenes from Sonamarg showcased tranquil vistas adorned with the untouched beauty of newly fallen snow.

However, the idyllic scenery also brought disruptions, as landslides triggered by heavy rains at Kishtwari Pather in Banihal led to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for vehicular traffic.

“NH-44 blocked due to Heavy landslide at Kishtwari Pather. People are advised to avoid journey,” cautioned the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police.
