Assam, July 22: Guwahati Police collected Rs 1,18,500 in fine from the people for violating curfew and other COVID-19 norms.
Police carried out multiple drives in several parts of the city against violation of COVID-19 guidelines. The total sum of the fines collected from the violators on Wednesday was Rs 1, 18,500.
“Help us make Guwahati safe & secure. Few glimpses of our curfew & Covid guideline violation checking in & around the city. Today fines amounting to Rs 1, 18,500/ have been realized from violators. Let’s fight the battle against #COVID19 together,” Guwahati Police tweeted.

The Assam Government has imposed a curfew in the Kamrup Metropolitan district from 5 pm to 5 am. Police took action against the people who stepped out to the streets without any valid reason.
While a total of 1,547 COVID-19 cases was detected in the state on Wednesday, Kamrup Metro recorded 193 cases.
