Champhai heroin

Aizawl, Sept 24: Assam Rifles personnel conducted a successful operation in Champhai district, Mizoram, seizing heroin with a street value of Rs 75.45 lakh near the Myanmar border. This operation carried out in collaboration with the state excise and narcotics department, resulted in the recovery of 107.78 grams of heroin in Chhungte village on Friday night.

Acting on a credible tip-off, the paramilitary force swiftly moved to intercept the illegal drug trade. As a result, one individual has been apprehended in connection with the seizure. The heroin, meticulously concealed in nine soap cases to evade detection, has now been turned over to the Excise and Narcotics Department.

This successful operation demonstrates the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the illegal drug trade in the region. Heroin, a highly potent and dangerous substance, poses significant risks to both public health and national security.
