Sports, Sept 24: India had a remarkable start on the first day of the 2023 Asian Games, securing silver medals in both shooting and rowing events.
The Indian women’s 10m Air Rifle team, comprising Ramita, Mehuli, and Ashi, clinched the silver medal, marking India’s entry into the medal tally at the Asian Games. In another impressive performance, rowers Arjun Lal and Arvind Singh secured silver in the Men’s Light-Weight Double Sculls event.
As the day unfolded, the Indian women’s cricket team faced off against Bangladesh, with Bangladesh choosing to bat first.

In the upcoming events, boxing champion Nikhat Zareen will face a challenging draw against a Chinese opponent. Additionally, both the men’s and women’s football teams are scheduled to compete in group matches later in the day.
