Guwahati, Oct 26: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has voiced strong confidence in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates for the upcoming Assembly by-elections.
“My best wishes to all five NDA candidates who have filed their nominations. I am confident the people across these constituencies will support the NDA, and we will secure victory in all seats,” Sarma stated.
In Bongaigaon, NDA candidate Deeptimoyee Choudhury submitted her nomination today, accompanied by prominent figures such as Minister Ranjit Kumar Das and former AGP President Atul Bora.

Choudhury, spouse of MP Phani Bhushan Choudhury, is expected to face Congress candidate Brajenjit Sinha in a closely watched contest.
Alongside Bongaigaon, BJP candidates will contest in Behali, Dholai, and Samaguri.
Diganta Ghatowar will challenge Congress’s Jayanta Barah in Behali, while Nihar Ranjan Das will face Congress’s Dhrubajyoti Purkayastha in Dholai.
In Samaguri, BJP’s Diplu Ranjan Sarma will compete against Congress’s Tanzil Hussain.
The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), part of the NDA alliance, has nominated Nirmal Kumar Brahma for Sidli. Brahma’s campaign received a strong community response, reflecting broad regional support.
“People from all sections are rallying behind UPPL’s candidate,” Brahma noted, underscoring the NDA’s confidence in a favorable outcome for the by-elections.
