Guwahati, Feb 23: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of adopting dictatorial tactics reminiscent of the North Korean regime in demanding weight loss from a party worker to meet him.

Responding to former Mumbai Youth Congress President Zeeshan Siddiqui’s criticism of the Congress party, Sarma took to social media to condemn what he termed as “ridiculous demands” imposed on party workers to meet aesthetic standards set by the leadership.

Siddiqui’s removal from his position prompted him to express his disillusionment with the Congress party during a press conference, where he highlighted an incident of body-shaming allegedly perpetrated by a close aide of Rahul Gandhi.

According to Siddiqui, he was told to lose 10 kilograms of weight before being granted an audience with Rahul Gandhi, a demand he deemed unacceptable given his role within the party.

These revelations have ignited a fierce debate on social media platforms, with Siddiqui accusing the Congress leadership, particularly Rahul Gandhi’s team, of neglecting senior members and adopting rude and authoritarian behavior.

Siddiqui’s remarks underscore a growing dissatisfaction within the party, particularly regarding its treatment of minority communities and internal dynamics.

The controversy surrounding Siddiqui’s comments has exposed underlying tensions within the Congress party, raising questions about its leadership style and the treatment of its members.
