2. Securing over 400 seats ensures PM Modi’s leadership, and BJP’s agenda beyond Ram Temple.
3. BJP’s focus extends to liberating all temples, not just Ram Temple construction.

Guwahati, May 10: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma voiced his party’s ambition to secure 400 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, citing concerns about the potential reconstruction of the Babri Masjid by the Congress if the BJP falls short of this target.

Speaking at a public rally in Malkangiri, Odisha, Sarma emphasized, “Our aim for 400 seats is to prevent the Congress from rebuilding the Babri Masjid in place of the Ram Temple. It’s crucial to ensure that such an event never occurs in India.”

He underscored the necessity of securing over 400 seats for Prime Minister Modi’s continued leadership, asserting that the BJP’s agenda extends beyond the Ram Temple’s construction to the liberation of all temples across the nation.

Sarma emphasized, “Previously, Congress would question us about the Ram Temple’s construction timeline, but they no longer do so. They understand that our objectives are broader and encompass the preservation of our cultural heritage.”

In another context, Sarma highlighted the BJP government’s commitment to tribal welfare, affirming its dedication to targeted reservation benefits for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).

He firmly opposed any proposal by the Congress or other parties to introduce separate reservations for Muslims, emphasizing the importance of preserving the existing reservation system.
