Agartala, May 10: The Tripura government assures the public of sufficient stocks of food and essential items, facilitated by imports through national highways.

“There’s no need to worry about shortages. We urge adherence to the rationing system for petrol and diesel,” stated the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs.

Though there’s a slight dip in petrol and diesel stocks, particularly in the IOCL depot at Dharmanagar under North District, efforts are ongoing to restore normalcy.

Due to heavy rains disrupting railway operations, essential commodities, including petroleum products, are being transported via road from neighboring areas.

The railway line repair is underway, with a recent trial run encountering some issues.

IOCL authorities are consistently importing petrol and diesel through road tankers from depots in Assam’s Betkuchi, Lamding, and Silchar.

Road transport will continue until railway services resume.
