Ranchi, May 10: In a thrilling match, Haryana emerged victorious over Madhya Pradesh with a 3-2 win in a shootout, while Odisha secured a 2-0 triumph against Mizoram in the National Women’s Hockey League 2024.
The intense battle between Haryana and Madhya Pradesh led to a goalless draw at the end of regular play, pushing the match into a shootout.
Despite numerous opportunities, neither team managed to score during regulation time. Madhya Pradesh earned five penalty corners, while Haryana received four, but none resulted in a goal.
In the shootout, Haryana’s Manju Chorsiya, Pinki, and Khasa Shashi found the net, while Karmanpreet Kaur and Swati scored for Madhya Pradesh.
Ishika’s outstanding performance in goal, saving three shots, secured the victory for Haryana, earning them two crucial points.

In the opening quarter of the second match, Odisha and Mizoram remained deadlocked without a goal.
However, Odisha surged ahead in the second quarter, with Pratibha Ekka scoring a field goal in the 25th minute.
Despite a goalless third quarter, Odisha maintained their 1-0 lead heading into the final phase of the game.
In the last quarter, Karuna Minz extended Odisha’s lead with another field goal in the 52nd minute, sealing their 2-0 victory over Mizoram.
