Ayodhya, May 10: On May 10, Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated with great enthusiasm nationwide, marked by sacred rituals such as bathing in the Ganga.

In a unique tribute, the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya dons a special attire crafted from Assam’s Muga and Eri silk by designer Manish Tripathi.

This intricate dress, a symbol of devotion, took 85 days of meticulous craftsmanship.

The fabric for Ram Lalla’s attire was sourced from Riniki Bhuyan’s ‘Golden Thread of Assam’ project, championed by Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife.

This collaboration not only highlights Assam’s rich textile heritage but also fosters national recognition for Assam Silk.

Adorned in Assam Silk, Ram Lalla will wear this attire throughout the week, commencing with Akshaya Tritiya, showcasing the nation’s pride in traditional textiles.

The attire features Vaishnavite motifs like shankha and peacock, reflecting the idol’s divine elegance.
