India, June 7: A Fake image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeting a woman has been morphed to falsely show that he was greeting Reliance group’s director Nita Ambani.
The original image was published in a 2018 news report in which PM Modi was seen greeting Deepika Mondol who belongs to an NGO called Divyajyoti Cultural Organisation and Social Welfare Society.

The photo shared in the post is a morphed one. The original photo shows PM Narendra Modi greeting the ‘Divya Jyoti Cultural Organization and Welfare Society’ Chief Functional Officer Deepika Mondol, not Nita Ambani. This photo was reportedly shot during an event in April 2015.

On conducting a reverse image search a similar photo was found in an article published by a news website that was published in 2015.
During an interview, Deepika Mondol revealed the reason for PM Narendra Modi’s special gesture towards her. Deepika Mondol clarified it as the kind gesture of PM Narendra Modi after knowing her as a prominent social worker.

The article carried the original image in which PM Narendra Modi was seen with one Deepika Mondol who belongs to an NGO called Divyajyoti Cultural Organisation and Social Welfare Society.
