Karnataka BJP

Aizawl, Oct 28: Congress leader and Karnataka energy minister KJ George on Saturday alleged that the BJP employed brute force to curb dissent by attacking religious freedom, undermining the cultural identity of a state and systematically destroying the independence of institutions.

Addressing a press conference in Aizawl, George highlighted the disruptive activities of the BJP in Karnataka where it put in all its efforts to destroy the social fabric of the state.

“Minorities were systematically targeted. Churches were destroyed and a concerted effort was made to break the very idea of India,” he said.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, undertaken under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, was able to end this destructive trend and helped heal the wounds inflicted by the BJP, he said. The yatra brought hope of change to the people of Karnataka, he said and also shared his personal experience of walking in the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

George talked about the Congress guarantees for the state of Mizoram that offer overall growth and development of the state.

“A new program for developing agriculture and horticulture in Mizoram along with support for start-ups in Mizoram are key policies which will be implemented for generating employment in the state,” he said.

He reiterated the congress party’s belief in the protection of the uniqueness of the state of Mizoram and the aim of fulfilling the commitments made to the people of Mizoram.
