Guwahati, Feb 24: In a fervent video message, Jeevan Singh, the Chief of the Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO), has unleashed a blistering attack on the Mamata Banerjee-led administration in West Bengal.

Singh’s rebuke comes amidst allegations of arrests and mistreatment of KLO members by state authorities.

Singh delved into historical intricacies, invoking the Merger Agreement that once accorded Category C State status to Cooch Behar.

Despite this historical recognition, Singh bemoaned the current plight of Kamtapur, accusing the government of subjecting its people to exploitation, humiliation, and deprivation.

Branding Mamata Banerjee as an outsider to the Kamtapuri cause, Singh pledged unwavering commitment to the struggle for the restoration of the Kamtapur state. He emphasized the imperative of unity among the diverse communities inhabiting the region to propel the movement forward.

Recent tensions reached a boiling point following the alleged arrests of KLO members, including Tapas Rai and KLO Secretary-General Kailash Koch, by state authorities.

Singh lambasted the government’s heavy-handed tactics, drawing parallels to colonial oppression, and called for resolute resistance against such authoritarian measures.

Singh’s ire was particularly stoked by the government’s interference in the Chilarai divas celebration, a momentous event for the Kamtapuri community.

He rallied the people of Kamtapur to close ranks and join forces in the struggle for KLO’s national liberation.

As the voices of dissent grow louder, the struggle for Kamtapur’s autonomy and dignity continues to simmer, fueled by the steadfast determination of its proponents like Jeevan Singh and the KLO.
