Dharmanagar earthquake

Agartala, Sept 09: A magnitude 4.4 earthquake on the Richter Scale rattled the region near Dharmanagar in Tripura on Saturday. The National Center for Seismology reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was situated 72 kilometers northeast of Dharmanagar. The seismic event occurred at approximately 3:48 pm local time.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) provided the following details about the earthquake: “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.4, Occurred on 09-09-2023, 15:48:31 IST, Lat: 24.76 & Long: 92.74, Depth: 43 Km, Location: 72km NE of Dharmanagar, Tripura, India.”

This earthquake in Tripura comes shortly after a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco on Friday night, resulting in substantial destruction and claiming the lives of at least 820 people.
