Imphal, Nov 26: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced today that the state government is on the verge of finalizing a peace deal with a Valley-based proscribed outfit. The Chief Minister, speaking to the media in Imphal, revealed that the talks have reached an advanced stage, and a formal peace accord is expected to be signed soon.

While refraining from explicitly naming the militant outfit involved, CM N Biren Singh affirmed that the negotiations are progressing positively. He stated, “Yes, just that we are advancing (in talks). And we are expecting to sign a peace accord with one big UG (underground group) very soon.”
