Imphal, April 27: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh strongly condemned the attack on Indian security forces in the Naransena region of Bishnupur district, expressing his deep sorrow over the loss of two CRPF personnel.

He denounced the assault as an act of cowardice against the committed security forces who tirelessly worked to maintain peace and stability in the state. Singh assured them that their sacrifice would be remembered and honored.

“Strongly condemn the assault against Indian security forces, resulting in the tragic loss of two CRPF personnel in Bishnupur district. Such actions demonstrate cowardice against dedicated security personnel who work tirelessly day and night to uphold peace and stability. Their sacrifice will not go in vain,” wrote Biren Singh on his social media handle.

The attack occurred on April 27 when suspected Kuki militants launched an assault in the Naransena area, resulting in the death of two CRPF personnel.

The attack commenced at midnight and lasted until 2:15 am, causing injuries to four personnel from CRPF’s 128 Battalion deployed in the Naransena area.

According to sources, armed groups fired towards a village in Naransena, with one bomb exploding inside the outpost of B/128 Bn CRPF.

This explosion caused injuries to four personnel, including Insp/Gd Jadav Das, SI/GD N Sarkar, HC/GD Arup Saini, and CT/GD Aftab Hussain. Sadly, SI/GD N Sarkar and HC/GD Arup Saini succumbed to their injuries, adding to the tragedy.
