Kolkata, April 27: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, leader of the Trinamool Congress, faced an unfortunate incident on Saturday as she slipped and fell inside a helicopter in Durgapur.

The mishap occurred as she ascended the movable stairs to board the helicopter. As she was about to take her seat inside, the slip resulted in a minor injury.

Swift assistance from her security personnel ensured her safety, and she proceeded with her scheduled trip to Asansol without further delay.

This isn’t the first time Mamata Banerjee has encountered such incidents.

In May, she was hospitalized after a fall near her home in Kolkata, which left her with a deep cut on her forehead.

The severity of the injury required medical attention at the state-run SSKM hospital.

Earlier, in June 2023, Mamata Banerjee sustained leg injuries during an emergency landing of her helicopter at Sevoke Airbase near Siliguri due to adverse weather conditions.

The incident resulted in ligament injuries to her left knee and hip joints, highlighting the risks associated with aerial travel amidst unpredictable weather patterns
