After 42 days, Manipur reports a fresh COVID-19 positive case:
Guwahati, May 14: After 42 days, Manipur on Thursday has reported a fresh positive case for COVID-19.

The man was returned from Mumbai where his father was treated for cancer.
He returned to Manipur in a hired vehicle and the administration kept him in a quarantine center.
Dr. Khiorom Sasheekumar Managing, Additional Director and Spokesperson of Manipur Health department said that the 31-year-old person from the Imphal East district who returned from Mumbai with a patient was tested positive for COVID-19.
In a press release issued by the Manipur Health Department stated that the new COVID-19 positive patient is now at COVID-19 treatment block/isolation ward of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal.
“As a precautionary arrangement, District Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) and Surveillance Teams have been constituted in all districts including 40 sub-surveillance teams in each district. COVID treatment blocks at JNIMS and RIMS are in readiness,” said in the Manipur Health Department press release.
According to the reports, the new COVID-19 patient’s mother succumbed to COVID-19 during their stay in Mumbai.
The last COVID-19 positive case was detected in Manipur on April 2.
Manipur has so far reported three COVID-19 positive cases and out of the two patients were discharged from hospital after their consecutive test results were found negative.
