Imphal, Sep 13: The Manipur Police have arrested two individuals for their suspected involvement in ongoing protests in Thoubal district.
Acting on specific intelligence, police made the arrests on September 11 in Imphal East District. The suspects, Laishram Roshan Singh (26) and Moirangthem Bumbum Singh (21), were found with a live tear gas shell.

In a separate operation in Churachandpur district, police recovered a rocket, modified M-16 rifle, country-made mortars, and bomb launchers during a search and area domination exercise.
To ensure the safe movement of vehicles, 110 checkpoints were set up across Manipur, leading to the detention of five individuals for violations.
Enhanced security measures are in place in vulnerable areas, and convoys are being provided on sensitive routes to facilitate the free flow of essential goods along NH-37 and NH-2.
