1. Security forces in Thoubal district arrested two suspected members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group).
2. The arrests took place in Leirongthel Pitra village.
3. The suspects, Chanam Pritam Singh (alias Thoungamba) and Sanabam Ibungo Meitei (alias Langamba), are both 20 years old.


Imphal, Aug 20: Security forces in Manipur’s Thoubal district arrested two suspected members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group).

The operation occurred in Leirongthel Pitra village, where Chanam Pritam Singh (alias Thoungamba) and Sanabam Ibungo Meitei (alias Langamba), aged 20, were apprehended.

Authorities recovered two pistols with magazines, nine rounds of live ammunition, three mobile phones, Rs 6,000 in cash, and a two-wheeler during the arrest.

In a related operation later that day in S. Nabil Village, Churachandpur District, security forces uncovered 67 improvised mortar shells, 25 fuse primers, and several other items.
