The move is part of the ongoing efforts to curb the illegal cultivation of poppy plants, which are often associated with the production of narcotics.

In addition to the destruction of poppy cultivation, security forces conducted thorough search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal West, Thoubal, and Bishnupur districts. These measures are essential to root out any potential illegal activities and maintain law and order in the region.

The security forces have implemented strict measures in all vulnerable locations, and security convoys are provided in sensitive stretches to guarantee the free and safe movement of vehicles, preventing any untoward incidents.
