Imphal, July 10: Security forces in Manipur arrested two individuals, Lunjakap Guite and Kaplal Singson, in Phaitol Village, Tamenglong District, during a search operation and area domination exercise.
They were found in possession of a significant cache of arms and ammunition, including two SBBL guns, one .303 rifle, and one Pumpi bomb.
In a similar operation in YC Hill, Saikot Village, Churachandpur District, security personnel recovered a single barrel gun, three improvised heavy mortars (Pumpi), four live cartridge bores marked 70 mm, three empty cartridge bores, and two empty mortar cartridges.
Additionally, from the Hill Range of Village K Lhangnom, Kangpokpi District, they seized one carbine machine gun with a magazine, two 12-bore guns (locally made), one .303 magazine, one HE-36 hand grenade, two 80 WP smoke grenades, one stun grenade, one Baofeng radio set, twenty-one live rounds of ammunition, and nine blank rounds.

The movement of 212 and 145 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-2, carrying essential items, was secured.
Strict security measures have been implemented in all vulnerable locations, with security convoys provided in sensitive stretches to ensure the safe movement of vehicles.
A total of 118 checkpoints were installed across Manipur, both in hill and valley districts, resulting in the detention of 85 individuals for various violations.
