Imphal, Oct 21: Two vacant farmhouses belonging to a village leader were set ablaze in Manipur’s Jiribam district.

According to police reports, the properties belonged to L. Somorendro, the head of Hilghat Gram Panchayat, and were targeted by suspected militants in the Nungkhal area.

Security forces rushed to secure the area and initiated a thorough investigation. Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the culprits, though no specific details have emerged yet.

This arson attack occurred just hours after militants launched an assault on a nearby village close to the Borobekra police station.
