Guwahati, Jan 21: An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitudes on the Richter Scale jolted Mizoram, Assam with tremors being felt in Manipur, Assam’s Guwahati, North Bengal, and other parts of the Northeast on Friday.

The earthquake was reported at 3.42 PM and the depth of the quake was 60 km, according to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS).

“Earthquake of Magnitude 5.6, Occurred on 21-01-2022, 15:42:32 IST, Lat: 23.10 & Long: 93.75, Depth: 60 Km, Location: 58km SE of Champhai, Mizoram,” NCS tweeted.

Also, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) informed that the epicentre of the earthquake was located 58 km southeast of Champhai district of Mizoram.

So far, no casualties or damage have been reported due to the earthquake.
