Sikkim landslide

Gangtok, Sept 24: In Sikkim, a colossal landslide in Sethi Jhora has compelled the authorities to announce the closure of National Highway-10 (NH-10). The inclement weather, coupled with torrential rains, triggered the landslide, causing a portion of the road to cave in.

The highway has been temporarily shut down to facilitate urgent repairs. Local residents have been advised to avoid using this route for travel during this period. However, small vehicles from Sikkim heading towards Siliguri may still use the road at their convenience. Heavy vehicles, on the other hand, will only be allowed to travel on this route between 7 pm and 6 am.

To address the situation, the local administration has suggested alternative routes for transportation.
