Ayodhya, Jan 13: The government of Mauritius has demonstrated a significant gesture towards the Hindu community by granting a two-hour special leave for Hindu public officers on January 22.

This decision, made by the Mauritian Cabinet under Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth’s leadership, allows Hindu public officers to participate in local celebrations and prayers associated with the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, India.

The Mauritian government’s move acknowledges the cultural and religious significance of the Ram Temple’s inauguration, symbolizing the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

This event holds great importance in India and resonates deeply with Mauritius, where around 48 per cent of the population is Hindu.

The special leave is scheduled to start at 1400 hours on January 22, considering the service difficulties.

On the same day, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ceremonial installation of the idol of Shri Ram Lalla within the sanctum sanctorum of the grand Ram Temple.

The inauguration is anticipated to draw leaders and dignitaries from various fields, making it a historic moment for devotees worldwide.
