Meghalaya masks

Shillong, Dec 23: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma appealed to the residents to begin wearing masks as a precautionary measure.

Sangma, after reviewing the COVID situation in Meghalaya, instructed reporters that the state government is continuously monitoring the condition.

The situation was reviewed after the Centre directed all states and Union territories to conduct genome sequencing on all positive samples daily following a spike in fresh cases in several countries including China.

As of now, there is nothing alarming but we must not take things for granted. During this festive season, the only advice is to wear masks wherever possible, CM said.

He also said that the COVID review meeting was a procedural one.
