Agartala, Oct 14: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma delivered a resounding message of cultural preservation and unity during his visit to Khumulwng in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). Speaking at a massive rally hosted by Tipra Motha, Sangma reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the indigenous cultures and rituals of the Northeast region.

Sangma’s presence at the Tipra Motha rally sent a clear signal that regional leaders stand united against any attempts to alter the cultural fabric of the indigenous communities. He emphasized that his visit to Tripura was to connect with his Tiprasa brothers and sisters, asserting, “I don’t need anyone’s permission to meet them.”

Highlighting the historical significance of indigenous leaders advocating for the rights of their people, Sangma stressed that while their ideologies might vary, their shared goal and purpose remained constant. This common mission is to protect the sacred land, preserve cultural traditions, and secure the future of the region’s youth and women.

Sangma made it clear that the leaders of the Northeast region were focused on the welfare of future generations and were not against anyone. Their aim is coexistence and overall development within India. However, if anyone attempts to encroach upon their sacred land or tamper with cultural practices, endangering the future of indigenous youth, they will not remain silent.

Expressing unwavering patriotism, Sangma underscored that while they are committed to working for the nation’s progress, they would not tolerate any harm to their indigenous communities. He urged the people to have faith that their efforts would ultimately succeed, leading to progress that benefits future generations.

The Chief Minister called for unity among all indigenous communities in the Northeast region. He assured the people that their concerns would be taken to the parliament, demonstrating their collective commitment to preserving the rich cultural tapestry of the region. Sangma’s speech resonated with the crowd, echoing the sentiments of cultural preservation and collective strength in the face of challenges.
