Cachar, Aug 02: Representatives of the Meitei community and the Hmar tribe, part of the Chin-Kuki tribe, held a significant peace meeting in Cachar, Assam.

The gathering aimed to address and resolve the unrest that had recently spread to Jiribam, causing widespread concern and disruption.

The meeting, moderated by the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Jiribam, along with senior CRPF and Assam Rifles officers, took place at the CRPF Group Centre in Dayapur, Cachar.
