Mizoram: 581 new COVID-19 cases push tally to 25,751

Mizoram, July 15: COVID-19 tally of Mizoram rose to 25,751 as 581 more people tested positive for the infection, health officials said here on Thursday.

The death toll climbed to 116 as two more people succumbed to the virus on Wednesday, he said.

Aizawl district reported the highest number of fresh cases at 272, followed by Kolasib district (129), Lunglei district (58), Mamit district (57), Lawngtlai district (49), Siaha district (8), Champhai district (5), Serchhip district (2) and Hnahthial district (1).

Of the fresh patients, 283 patients have developed symptoms of COVID-19 and the remaining 298 were asymptomatic, he said.

The single-day positivity rate is at 11.06 per cent as the 581 fresh cases were detected from 5,253 sample tests.

Mizoram COVID tally now has 5,373 active cases, while 20,262 people have recovered from the disease including 267 on Wednesday.
